My dear Harman,

Your tastes take me back to "Those were the days, my friends, we thought they'd never end ..." of 1967-71 when I was in St Xavier's College, Mumbai.

I was just 17 when this song came out, and then, "Cry baby, cry" for my mother died in 1969.

Can you see, Harman, the joy of adolescence and the pain of death all in those years of the Beatles?

Warm regards,
- Joe.

Sir, It so happens that I also finished reading this book by Murakami-- 'Norwegian Wood' which is also set in the year 1969 in Tokyo...with the music of Beatles as a strong background...and having themes of loss and loneliness. The Beatles are for sure one of the greatest bands ever for me...
